Methodology
CrimeWatch BD documents reported financial crimes, enforced disappearances, killings, and sexual violence attributed to political actors in Bangladesh from 1971 to the present, across all major parties. It is an independent, non-partisan reference project.
How a case gets published
- An editor submits a source: a news article, tribunal judgment, or human-rights organization report.
- An AI assistant drafts a structured, neutrally-worded summary from that source.
- A human editor reviews the draft against the original source, corrects anything inaccurate, and only then publishes it. No case goes live without this step.
Legal status labels
Each case is labeled alleged, under investigation, charged, convicted, acquitted, or disputed, matching what the cited source itself establishes — not this site's own judgment of guilt.
Copyright
Case summaries are original editorial work written by CrimeWatch BD editors. Any quoted excerpt is kept short, clearly marked, and credited with the original publisher's name and a direct link. Rights to quoted material remain with the original rights holder.
